Chaplaincy

Introduction

The House of Healing International Ministries Believers Fellowship is a non‑denominational, Pennsylvania‑registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to spiritual growth, leadership development, and compassionate service. We prepare individuals to serve both local and global communities through chaplaincy and theological education, while also supporting families in need through outreach funded by tuition and donations.

Our Mission

We exist to cultivate leaders who embody biblical wisdom, integrity, and compassion. Through training and mentorship, we equip chaplains and ministry leaders to provide care that honors diverse backgrounds and fosters healing.

Online Chaplaincy Training

Our Faith‑Based Chaplaincy Certification is designed for individuals seeking preparation for non‑clinical, faith‑based, and community chaplaincy roles.

  • 6‑Month Program — $650

Required Volunteer Practicum

To ensure students gain meaningful real‑world ministry experience, the program includes a volunteer practicum requirement:

  • 6‑Month Program: 20 hours of volunteer service

Volunteer hours may be completed in approved faith‑based or community settings such as shelters, food pantries, recovery programs, senior‑care facilities, outreach ministries, prayer teams, first‑responder support programs, or other environments where spiritual and emotional care is provided. Students document their service through a brief reflection and confirmation from a supervising ministry leader.

Curriculum Overview

The curriculum provides a strong foundation in biblical education and ministerial formation. It includes essential chaplaincy competencies such as ethics, trauma‑informed care, crisis response, boundaries, interfaith sensitivity, documentation, and reflective practice. Students develop skills in spiritual support, compassionate care, crisis response, and ethical leadership.

Our chaplaincy training is geared toward faith‑based and community settings, where compassion, presence, ethical conduct, and spiritual maturity are the primary qualifications.

Who This Program Is For

This program is designed for individuals who feel called to provide spiritual and emotional support in faith‑based and community settings. It is ideal for those who want structured ministry formation without pursuing an academic degree or clinical credential. Students who benefit most from this training include:

  1. Aspiring Faith‑Based Chaplains

  2. Community and Volunteer Chaplains

  3. Non‑clinical, volunteer, or community‑based First‑Responder and Crisis‑Response Chaplains

  4. Workplace and Corporate Chaplains

  5. Senior‑Care and Assisted‑Living Chaplains

  6. Ministers and Lay Leaders Seeking Structured Training

  7. Students Preparing for Future CPE

  8. Individuals Launching Their Own Faith‑Based Chaplaincy or Ministry Services

CPE Certification

Our chaplaincy program offers comprehensive training in the core competencies required for effective pastoral care, but it does not offer Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification. Although CPE is not required for faith‑based or most community‑based chaplaincy roles, our curriculum provides a strong foundation for students who may later pursue ACPE‑accredited CPE for clinical or hospital chaplaincy.

Educational Status

Our chaplaincy training programs are religious‑education programs and are not part of an accredited college or university. They are designed for ministry formation rather than academic degree credit.

Core Values and Code of Ethics

Our fellowship is grounded in compassion, integrity, respect for diversity, service, and spiritual growth. These values guide every aspect of our chaplaincy work and shape the ethical standards we uphold. Chaplains are expected to maintain confidentiality, honor professional boundaries, and provide care without discrimination. We serve within the limits of our training, seek continued growth, and remain accountable for our actions. In all ministry settings, chaplains must represent their credentials honestly and conduct themselves with humility, respect, and Christ‑centered integrity.

Quarterly Leadership Development

To maintain active fellowship chaplain status, all graduates are required to participate in quarterly leadership development, totaling four sessions per year. This ongoing formation is consistent with the standards upheld by many chaplaincy and ministry organizations. Each quarter, chaplains must either attend a brief online leadership class or complete a competency assessment. This requirement ensures continued spiritual growth, ethical accountability, and ministry excellence throughout the year.
